Explore a creative way to build a portrait through photography in this beginner-friendly two-part class inspired by David Hockney. Hockney is known for his “photo joiners,” where many small photographs are combined to create a single image that captures different angles and moments at once.

Day One will focus on taking photographs. Participants will use their smartphones to take a series of close up photos of a subject, capturing different parts of the face or figure from slightly different angles. We will talk about framing, perspective, and how small details can work together to create a larger image. A smartphone is required for the first class.
