Let loose! Stop worrying about if it looks like this or that. In this beginner friendly class, you'll use whatever drawing materials you want that we have lying around, and Jay will show you how to use the principles of art (repetition, movement, balance, etc.) to make it still come together in an appealing way! Express yourself, and don't get caught up in how it needs to look. It doesn't need to do anything but be an expression of your world. But Jay will help you make it look better too. ;)

You can experiment with different ways of making marks such as scribbling, layering lines, and building textures to discover how drawing can communicate feeling rather than just represent objects. Students will be able to experiment with both familiar drawing tools like crayons and colored pencils as well as some new ones like tempera sticks, pastels, and paint pens.
