Explore the fascinating world of symmetry through drawing in this beginner-friendly class inspired by the work of Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo was deeply interested in balance, proportion, and patterns found in nature and the human body. In this workshop, we’ll take inspiration from his curiosity and use symmetry to create striking and harmonious designs.

Participants will learn how symmetry works by creating drawings that mirror shapes, patterns, and forms across a central line. We’ll experiment with simple techniques for building balanced compositions, using repetition and reflection to turn basic shapes into intricate and visually satisfying designs. Students will be introduced to artist's graphite, charcoal pencils, and smudging techniques.

This class has no specific age restrictions, however, it may appeal more to children ages 7-16. Please use your best judgement on if this activity is appropriate for your child. Parents are welcome to participate as well!
